Murray flies at Arizona Rockety Gathering - 2006

The rocket pictured here is named Murray in memory of Andy's friend and mentor. Murray first took to the skies in July of 2004 at Maple Island. The flight started off great but about one second into flight, Murray shredded and came down in a rain of parts over the missile range. Folks helped Andy find what was left of Murray and Andy vowed to get him in the air again. In May of 2005, Andy had Murray rebuilt and had a great flight over the skies of Maple Island. Here in this photo we see Murray flying again, this time in Arizona at ARG. Murray went to 7014 feet on a K185 long burn. The recovery was about 50 yards from the pad, for an awesome launch!
